Enav Lalla is an artist who weaves baskets, hand binds books and sculpts with paper pulp. In her work, material is the method and requires construction and discovery. Through the layering of natural fibers, emphasis is placed on dimensional forms, encouraging the viewer to get up close.

While studying at the Universität der Künste Berlin last semester, her work explored European approaches to contemporary book binding techniques. Now in her last semester, she’s sculpted a new series of paper forms, which will be exhibited at SAIC Galleries in April 2025.
